Comments on Inflationary Cosmology

چکیده
In this talk we will discuss three different issues. First of all, there exist several proposals how to solve cosmological problems by adiabatic expansion of the Universe of a specific type, without any use of inflation. We explain why these models do not solve the flatness/entropy problem. On the other hand there exist some claims that inflation also does not solve the flatness problem. We show that these claims are correct to a certain extent for old and new inflation, but are incorrect for simplest versions of chaotic inflation. The second issue to be considered is the classification of inflationary models. At present all kinds of inflationary models are compared to each other in order to understand which of them better describes observational data. Unfortunately, this often leads to terminological misunderstandings and even to misleading conclusions. We discuss three coexisting types of classification of inflationary models and explain their relation to each other. We also briefly describe the hybrid inflation model, which combines several interesting features of different inflationary models. Finally we show that it is possible to describe inflationary universe by a stationary (i.e. time-independent) probability distribution to find a domain of a given size containing matter with given properties. This represents a strong deviation of inflationary cosmology from the standard Big Bang paradigm. Comments on ’ Regular inflationary cosmology and gauge theories of gravity ’
In this note we comment recent paper by A.V. Minkevich 'Regular inflationary cosmology and gauge theories of gravity' on the 'bouncing' character of flat-type inflationary cosmolog-ical models within gauge theories of gravity. Recently [1] it was argued that inflationary cosmological solutions in the case of flat models within the framework of gauge theories of gravity have 'bouncing' character...
متن کاملNonequilibrium Quantum Fields in Cosmology: Comments on Selected Current Topics
Concepts of quantum open systems and ideas of correlation dynamics in nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, as well as methods of closed-time-path effective action and influence functional in quantum field theory can be usefully applied for the analysis of quantum statistical processes in gravitation and cosmology. We raise a few conceptual questions and suggest some new directions of research ...
متن کاملProspects of Inflationary Cosmology
In this review I briefly describe the evolution of the inflationary theory from the scenario based on the idea of supercooling and expansion in the false vacuum toward the theory of eternally expanding self-reproducing inflationary universe. I describe recent development of inflationary cosmology with Ω 6= 1, and then discuss some issues related to the possibility to verify inflation by compari...
متن کاملInflationary Cosmology: Theory and Phenomenology
This article gives a brief overview of some of the theory behind the inflationary cosmology, and discusses prospects for constraining inflation using observations. Particular care is given to the question of falsifiability of inflation or of subsets of inflationary models.‡
متن کاملInflationary Cosmology in Modified Gravity Theories
We review inflationary cosmology in modified gravity such as R gravity with its extensions in order to generalize the Starobinsky inflation model. In particular, we explore inflation realized by three kinds of effects: modification of gravity, the quantum anomaly, and the R term in loop quantum cosmology. It is explicitly demonstrated that in these inflationary models, the spectral index of sca...
